The National Institutes for Health and the World Health Organization recognize the validity of acupuncture, and endorse the use of acupuncture for a number of conditions. Acupuncture is often combined with Chinese herbal medicine to provide the greatest effect. Muscular and skeletal conditions: Pain or restriction in any of the following areas: back, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Also, sports injuries and conditions such as fibromyalgia.
