Low Back

Back pain is the most common musculoskeletal disorder. We hurt our backs through being too active without preparation, or by being too sedentary and letting the muscles become weak. Pain in the low back can come from the soft tissues, arthritis or disc disease. It can also be caused by a postural problem, which causes pain after standing, walking or sitting over time.

Most low back soft tissue injury heals over time with appropriate exercise and rest. Ligaments can be damaged to the point that healing is inadequate, and chronic pain can result. Fortunately these ligaments respond well to treatment with Prolotherapy.

Occasionally a disc in the low back can be injured and pinch nerves. This may require surgical correction.
