Knee
We most frequently injure our knees in sports or other strain injuries. Knees also wear out from years of weight bearing. This results in arthritis and degeneration of cartilage. After a time the cartilage can wear away completely, resulting in a "bone on bone" situation. This is where the upper leg bone rubs directly on the lower leg bones and is very painful.

Knee pain that occurs with walking can be from a posture problem and often responds well to a heel lift or arch supports.

The soft tissues of the knees are often damaged from sports injuries. The ligaments, such as the famous cruciates, are often torn. Soft tissue injuries of the knee usually heal with rest. Ligaments can be damaged to the point that healing is incomplete and chronic pain can result. Fortunately, this usually responds to Prolotherapy.
