Hip and Pelvis
We injure our hips and pelvis by many common daily activities. It is often hard for someone to tell if the pain is really coming from the hips or the pelvic bones as both tend to hurt in the same areas. Hips are also subject to arthritis because of the wear and tear of having to bear our weight for years. If the cartilage in the hip joint wears away completely, a "bone on bone" situation results where the leg bone rubs against the hip socket directly. This is very painful.

Hip and pelvic pain that occur on walking can be from a posture problem and often responds well to a heel lift or arch supports.

Soft tissue injuries to the hips and pelvis usually heal with rest. Ligaments can be damaged to the point that healing is incomplete and chronic pain can result. Fortunately this responds well to treatment.
