Head and Jaw
Headaches are the most common pain complaint. Many respond well to over-the-counter medicines, but headaches from structural problems keep coming back. Examples are headaches from muscle tension, stress and injury. Most headaches of this type respond well to treatment. (Please also see section on neck pain).

A more severe type is the migraine, which usually involves only one side of the head and can be incapacitating. Through addressing the structural contributions to migraine, these headaches can often be controlled or eliminated.

Another type of head pain comes from the joint where the jaw joins the skull. Known as TMJ (temporomandibular joint) syndrome, this type of head pain is complicated. Relief often requires the combined efforts of dental intervention and structural care.
