Dr. Teitelbaum has been practicing Osteopathic structural
medicine since 1985. He became interested in the Osteopathic
approach to medicine after becoming acquainted with
the benefits of manipulation. At the time, Dr. Teitelbaum
was practicing as a small animal and zoo animal veterinarian,
having graduated the Texas A&M College of Veterinary
Medicine in 1976. He applied to the Texas College of
Osteopathic Medicine, and graduated Cum Laude in 1984.
He followed this with internship at the Osteopathic
Health System of Texas.
Dr. Teitelbaum opened his practice specializing
in Osteopathic Manipulation in 1985. By 1990 he had
become proficiency certified in Cranial Osteopathy by
the Cranial Academy. This was followed in 1991 with
certification in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
by the American Academy of Osteopathy. He was named
a member of the American Academy of Osteopathy Bureau
of Experts in 1994.
After experiencing Prolotherapy, (also
known as ligament reconstructive therapy)
for an injury to his own wrist, Dr. Teitelbaum undertook
the study of this therapeutic art. He completed his
training in 1994.
Dr. Teitelbaum developed an interest
in Chinese medicine after noticing the similarities
between Osteopathic and Chinese philosophies. He trained
in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine through UCLA.
This course is presented by the American
Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA), a physician
acupuncture organization. He has been practicing acupuncture since 1995.
In addition to his private practice,
Dr. Teitelbaum teaches as a Clinical Assistant Professor
in the Department
of Manipulative Medicine at the University of North
Texas Health Science Center. He has published papers
and continues to give presentations to physicians at
the local, state and national levels.
Dr. Teitelbaum treats injuries,
joint pain and structural problems with therapeutic
methods designed to stimulate the body to heal itself.
The use of Osteopathic manipulation, postural balancing,
acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Prolotherapy
provide efficient natural methods of regaining health
and function. |
